OP’24 symposium: Call for abstracts now OPEN

OceanPredict is pleased to invite you to actively contribute to the Symposium 2024 (OP’24) “Advancing Ocean Prediction science for societal benefits” in partnership with the IOC-UNESCO and the UN Ocean Decade by submitting your abstract(s).

To submit an abstract you have to pre-register for the symposium and follow the instructions on the event website:

OP’24 is specifically designed to strengthen the cooperation and partnerships between diverse ocean science and service communities to address sustainable development, blue economy, and societal awareness. In that way, this event will include sessions centered around ocean predictions with a focus on global, basin-scale, coastal, regional, polar ocean and sea ice predictions, new developments in ocean predictions (measurements / observations, modeling, data assimilation, machine learning / AI, digital twins, etc.), ocean prediction systems and services, and user applications and societal benefits.

OP’24 will be held on November 18-22, 2024 at the headquarter of the IOC-UNESCO (Paris, France). This event will promote action and foster collaborations under the UN Decade outcome “A Predicted Ocean” towards a society that understands and can respond to changing ocean conditions. Splinter and poster sessions, fora and training opportunities will explore OceanPredict objectives, as well as innovations and advancements in Ocean Forecasting.

A wide audience is expected, ranging from scientists to users, from decision makers to industry representatives. Especially welcome are service providers and representatives from the end-user community, to exhibit their work and products, and to engage with the science community. Also very much encouraged to attend are early career scientists, students, and representatives from emerging economies.

Stay tuned for more information. For now, please pre-register and submit your abstract(s)!
